I read this years ago and I wrote it down and go back and read it every now and then, I apologize for not remembering what book it came from. Forgiveness is a hard thing to do sometimes but all the time it is worth it:

The most important task is to FORGIVE YOURSELF for bad choices and decisions for wasting time, for wishing harm on others, for believing others when they told you things about yourself that were not TRUE.

Most of all FORGIVE YOURSELF for forgetting that you are a PRECIOUS CHILD OF GOD and that GOD LOVES YOU EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE, AS YOU ARE.

In our lives we experience upset and pain. Often these pains and upsets involve individuals who are in our lives daily, therefore the fastest way to change these circumstances and relationships is to FORGIVE.

To Forgive means, “To give up for change”. When we give up anger, resentment, criticism and fear, the energy in our heart changes; Our perspective of Life changes; our mind changes and our relationship with God changes.

Forgiveness enable us to FLOURISH, not merely survive because our hearts once again open to the goodness of life, the Goodness of GOD.

What happens is NOT the ISSUE. How you HANDLE WHAT HAPPENS is the Issue.

No matter what it LOOKS like, EVERYONE is doing the BEST he/she can under he circumstances.

The LIMITS you place on yourself and others are the LIMITS you WILL experience and live within, in turn; You WILL PARTICIPATE in what YOU BELIEVE about other people.

WHAT YOU FOCUS ON WILL BECOME YOUR REALITY!

Here is a written prayer I write everyday and it came from that same book I can not seem to remember the author nor the title, but for some reason “The Valley” and a lady who had a reality show called ‘Starting Over’ comes to mind. I think her last name was Vanzant..I am not sure but I will do some research and find out, because that book help me thru a hard time.

Dear God:

Today the power of Love fills my heart and I am Able to Forgive!
Today, the power of Peace fills my mind and I am willing to Forgive!
Today, the goodness of God fills my Life and I am Ready to Forgive!
I am ready and willing to receive your perfecting presence in my Life!
I ow open my mind and heart to your divine order as the Center of My Life!
Bring me into alignment with my highest and greatest Good!
Thank you God! And so it is.

Why I love the WNBA?

I fell in love with basketball when I was in the 5th grade and I have been in love ever since. Although, my dreams of being a basketball superstar never materialized because when I was in high school there was no WNBA. But now there is and all the young girls who are in love with basketball should be encouraged to participate and learn all of the fundamentals of the game. Of course every girl that picks up a basketball will not make it to the WNBA, but what good is a dream if you don’t try to make it your reality?

I salute all the pioneers of womens basketball and all the women playing everyday around the country right now. There are alot of young girls who can play or want to play basketball and today, they have the same opportunities as the boys do–they can go Pro! Look at Deanna Nolan, #14 for the Detroit Shock and a Flint Northern High School Graduate! DREAMS DO COME TRUE. But first we must encourage our kids to DREAM. I know not all little girls are going to want to pick up the rock, but the ones that do, why shouldn’t we encourage them every step of the way.
I am tired of searching for WNBA games on television or only seeing one article in the Flint Journal that highlights the entire WNBA. I am tired of going into the mall and not being able to find a WNBA jersey. But I can find NBA apparel, even in the female athletic apparel stores. I am tired and it is time I make some noise to more than just the manager at Lady Foot Locker, lol–really what can he do?

R.I.P. Donnesha Williams

A 13-year-old girl who was shot by a stray bullet last Thursday has died after spending several days on life support. Her name was Donnesha Williams and she will be laid to rest Today!

Donnesha Williams, an eighth-grader at Holmes Middle School in Flint, died last Saturday. Family, friends, and even some who never met the little girl with a big smile gathered for a candlelight vigil Sunday evening.

“I need to tell the young people to lay down their guns and pickup their bibles,” said Maria Williams, Donnesha’s mother.

Township Police Chief Hap Ashley said it appears Donnesha was not the intended target. Police said Saturday that they had one 16-year-old suspect in custody.

Witnesses told police they heard at least 15 shots fired from the Mt. Morris Township side of College Thursday. Surveillance video nearby showed three men driving on College who got out of a white and blue Caprice Classic-style car and began shooting.

Family members said Donnesha was a sweet girl who loved playing with her friends, shopping and getting her hair done.

“Something has to change because there’s kids around here who can’t go to the store without someone shooting at them,” said Deneiki Johnson, Donnesha’s cousin. “This will show her we loved her, and not just her, but all the kids who die from violence.”

Residents spoke out about Flint’s violence and ways to tackle it.

“There’s so many killings, it has got to stop,” said Mary Calvin Flint. “They’re children. We need to stop our fear of young people. They are asking for our love and support. They’re asking for it in a negative way, but we need to reach out to them.”

Others believe they need to take action and spearhead future acts of violence in order to prevent future acts of violence.

The Rev. Jeffrey Hawkins of Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church and Concerned Pastors for Social Action said education is the solution to preventing violence and that people need to be proactive in violence prevention.

“We can not wait till this happens again,” said Hawkins, whose 14-year-old son was shot and killed two and a half years ago.

The vigil Sunday was a collection of local groups including the Urban League of Flint, Church Without Walls, Raise it up Youth Arts, The Nation of Islam, and Families of Murdered Children.

WHY WE WON’T HELP?

I read something very heart breaking and just not right!   I heard about this person, Robert Mugabe a few years ago and I instantly got mad at myself for not knowing about him and what he has done to masses of people in the country he rules. I learned about him then, got pissed and did nothing.   Not saying that I could have put an end to the violence, but what if me speaking up and making sure people heard me, got the attention of someone who maybe could have said something to the right person who …… you see where I am going. I don’t know what would have happened but, I do know that the result of me not speaking up, was nothing.    Mr. Robert Mugabe is the #1 WORST Dictator in the World! In a room filled with TEN EVIL BUT POWERFUL MEN, Mugabe stands out as the most infamous.
Any man brave enough to stand up against this “devil in a black face“, not only put his own life in danger but also anyone affiliated with him, even his supporters.   Just as recent as last spring, President Mugabe’s ZANU-PF party unleased a wave of violence against supporters of MDC(Movement for Democratic Change) rival Morgan Tsvangirai.   The violence included the brutual rape of hundreds of opposition women and girls.    A man is his bond–right? Okay President Mugabe signed a power-sharing agreement with Morgan Tsvangirai, but has not lived up to the terms of that agreement and has installed his own people at the head of every ministry.
As I read this article I thought about an episode of Oprah, and I don’t remember what year it was, but it was about an African women, who was on her show at the time, she was a survivor of this Presidents reign of terror. She describe how the Presidents “thugs” came into her home made her son and husband watch them rape her and her daughter, steal everything in their house right before they tore it down. In the end she was left with no one but herself, because her daughter was killed and her husband and son was “recruited” as soilders, they may have been killed also but she has no way of finding out.
I can’t believe it is still going on.   I believe if we (the USA) can stick our noise in anybody business we want to—WHY WON’T WE HELP THEM?
Why we have not found where this President Mugabe is in Zimbabwe and take him down? That’s what we do right?   That’s what we did to what’s his name, lol, Sadaam Hussain(I don’t care if I spelled his name right). I just don’t understand.   This man has been in power since 1980, he is 85 years old.   It is reported that since he has been in power the unemployment rate has risen to more than 85%!   Can you believe that?   In Flint, Mi the unemployment rate is I believe 10-11% and some people don’t know how to act. Just imagine yourself in Zimbabwe, and tell me you not blessed!
I know I am.
My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering,   has suffered and will suffer at the dictation of this man. There is 10 men in this article and I can only stomach one.   Mugabe was #6 last year and has moved up to the top spot.   The United States must have a lot to lose if they get rid of him, I don’t know.   What I do know is this man is no different than Hitler and he needs to die.   Flat out, there has been more than 3800 deaths, due to cholera since August 2008.   Cholera is bacteria, which is found in fecal-contaminated food and water and in raw or undercooked seafood, produce a toxin that affects the intestines causing diarrhea, vomiting, and severe fluid and electrolyte loss. This overwhelming dehydration is the outstanding characteristic of the disease and is the main cause of death. Cholera has a short incubation period (two or three days) and runs a quick course. In untreated cases the death rate is high, averaging 50%, and as high as 90% in epidemics, but with effective treatment the death rate is less than 1%. The intravenous and oral replacement of body fluids and essential electrolytes and the restoration of kidney function are more important in therapy than the administration of antibacterial drugs. In regions of Asia, Africa, and South America where public sanitation is poor the disease is still endemic or epidemic; vaccination is recommended for people living in those areas. A theory of evolutionary biologists holds that the cystic fibrosis gene, a common but lethal recessive gene carried by approximately one in twenty Caucasians, affords those carriers partial protection against cholera.

WHY IS OUR PRESIDENT BEING BLAMED FOR WHAT THEY PRESIDENT DID?

When President Obama agreed to help out the Auto Industry he included stipulations and let them know he will be watching their spending. In an article dated October 4, 2008 published on line by the Wall Street Journal, states the following:

President George W. Bush signed into law an unprecedented $700 billion plan to rescue the U.S. financial system, one of the largest-ever government interventions in the nation’s economy — and almost certainly not the last. The Treasury will have $700 billion to buy up toxic mortgages, securities and related assets that have undermined the nation’s financial architecture. PLEASE re-read that last sentence, it says nothing about giving bonuses to anyone!!!

Can anyone tell me why they are trying to blame him for Bush’s mess? Bush only gave that money out because he wanted to end his “terror” on a good note. He didn’t give a damn what those CEOs did with that money, just as long as he shut them up long enough so he could get the f-out!

I knew he(Pres.Obama) was not only going to hear it from those who Hate him constantly, but I also knew there was going to be something Bush messed up and left half done, that he would feel the heat for. And I’m sure he knew it too.

Where are the faces of the missing blacks on the news?

I signed a petition that is asking the major news networks to devote one minute of every news hour to domestic violence, specifically black women and other miniorities. Mr. George Cook, editor of Let’s Talk Honestly website, is doing good things for not just his community, but also the world. Please, Check out this poem directed to those major news stations. I support him in this fight for the faces of our loved ones to get the same amount of exposure as others, but I also think that the two Black owned television stations should be doing more. Why BET didn’t hire Star Jones to be the “black” Nancy Grace? We did not need another celebrity gossip show and definitely not from her(Star Jones). I mean really, how you go from the View to a gossip show?LOL . I signed the petition but I believe we need more than one minute of air time for every hour of news, but it is a start.

DEANNA NOLAN OVERSEAS TAKEOVER

Ms. Deanna Nolan, is in Russia on a mission to help take the UMMC Ekaterinburg squad to the #1 Position. On April 3rd they meet up against Spartak in the EuroLeague Final Four in Spain. If they beat Spartak, then they advance to the Finals on April 5th. She has been playing around 25.2 minutes, averaging 7.7 points, 2.3 assits and 1.3 steals per game. On April 9th, she will be back in the United States for the 2009 WNBA Draft in Secaucus, N.J., presented by Adidas.

AND THEY SAID WOMEN CAN’T JUMP!

Okay, I admit it’s not the hardest dunk in the world, but it is a dunk. And many have said over and over again that women ballers couldn’t do it and probably wouldn’t do it in a game. Now I’ve heard the negative comments, that the dunk by Sylvia Fowles was “weak” and just “alright” and it’s funny to me how negative words flow so freely from some people lips. This is not her first dunk in a game so I am pretty sure it will not be her last. As a senior at LSU, she became the 6th player to ever dunk in a Womens College Basketball Game.

First it was, they gone have to start dunking for me to watch or it’s just not exciting enough and Now that the women of the WNBA are showing you that WE STILL GOT NEXT, the hatas have alot of nothing good to say. Like my grandmother use to always say, “If you have nothing good to say, you really should nothing!”

Candace Parker has proven that she is not playing with nobody! This young lady is amazing and we have not seen anything yet. She and her husband, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Sheldon Williams are expecting her first child early May and they couldn’t be happier, that is until the baby arrive.
